Light & Bright

Floral · Bright · Golden Cup

A black tea of unusual restraint. Oxidised only partially, it keeps the brightness of the high spring garden — a golden cup with a floral lift and a clean, luminous finish that lingers like morning light on the ridge.

Infusions
01

Warm a porcelain or glass pot with hot water, then discard — the vessel should be ready, not scalding.

02

Measure three grams of leaf per 200ml. This is a tea that rewards a generous, unhurried hand.

03

Pour water just off the boil, around 90°C — hot enough to open the leaf, cool enough to keep it bright.

04

Steep three minutes for the first cup. Re-infuse up to three times, adding thirty seconds each pour.

How It's Made

Five deliberate steps

01
Plucking
Two leaves and a bud, taken by hand at first light.
02
Withering
12–14 hours on bamboo trays, until the leaf turns supple.
03
Rolling
Gentle pressure, bruising the leaf only lightly.
04
Oxidation
Arrested early, at 20–30% — the secret to its brightness.
05
Firing
Low and slow, locking the luminous character in.

The Origin

High on the southern slopes of the Himalaya, above the cloud line, the garden grows slowly in thin, clean air.

Light & Bright is picked in the first weeks of spring, when the leaf carries the brightness of the new season. Cold nights and altitude force it to grow slowly — concentrating aroma, sharpening flavour, and giving the cup its luminous, floral lift.

Every leaf is certified organic, plucked by hands that have read these slopes for generations, and finished at our own factory. No middlemen. Only the mountain, the leaf, and the people who tend both.
